Fantastic antique gadget walking stick cane, a highly collectible category of Victorian and Edwardian novelty walking sticks designed with hidden mechanical or utilitarian features.
Intricately carved deer antler handle with organic, fluid details. The circular silverplate end cap functions as a hinged lid. Flipping this lid open reveals a small hollow chamber intended to store powdered tobacco (snuff) discreetly. The handle can be unscrewed to reveal a hidden corkscrew.
The wood shaft with silverplated collar has a distinctly textured surface and a mottled, spotted pattern resembling leopard spots.
